These are some installation shots from my piece, “Considerations.” This was installed in the advanced ceramics class’ Light Show last week in DAAP’s 840 gallery.
This is the first piece in which I used graph paper to achieve a more uniform pattern to the dots (this was brought up in our midterm crit). I complained for a while at first, and yes, it is a PAIN to scrape the inside of each and every hole completely clean of glaze (otherwise there would be no hole) but I LOVE how it turned out. It features my matte clear glaze (yes, I finally have my name on a glaze bucket!), and I’m now playing around with what kind of stitching to do!
I’ve been thinking about the ceramics show in the 840 Gallery at the beginning of next quarter. I think I’ll have two of these, each inside a pin&thread frame, with some phrase in between, like “Hello, again” (referencing the notion that I’m revisiting/reexamining past traditions), in my pin&thread obsessed manner………
